• Power Gaming win FOM |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| |

This weekend Frag-O-Matic 12.0 went live yesterday, with several competitions going on. This included a CoD4 competition, with mostly benelux teams attending, with Power Gaming and Heroes as most familiar names.
The group stage started on saturday morning with 6 groups going live. There were no big surprises or delays and the play-offs started in the early afternoon.
After big score differences in the first rounds, the semi-finals were the first really interesting matches. Pwr faced GameLimited, winning 13-7, while Heroes knocked out MouseFX after overtime. This was followed by a 2-0 win for Power in the wb final. After Heroes managed to beat MouseFX again, the two favorites ended up in the grand final!
Although the upper bracket final went to pwr quite smoothly, the upper bracket definitely didn't go their way that easily. The first map, backlot, went to Heroes by a very close 13-11 score. Power didn't let that happen twice though, winning 13-8 at crossfire and crowning themselves FOM 12.0 champions!
Final standings
# Team
1 Power Gaming
2 Heroes
3 MouseFX
4 Mystq
5 NCC
6 GameLimited
7 viZio Esport
8 Up Demo
The top-3 takes home hardware prizes, as there was no money for grabs at this event. Especially for Power Gaming this was a decent training for CC7, where they will have to prove if they deserve their first place in the latest Cadred CoD4 rankings. |

Europe's leading Call of Duty 4 team, fnatic, who recently dropped to fourth place in the Cadred European top 10 after a period of inactivity, have revitalised their lineup ahead of the Crossfire Intel Challenge 7 next month.
The Swedish team, finalists at Outpost on Fire 3 and winners of The eXperience 2009, Multiplay i37 and Multiplay i38, have been forced to part ways with long time member Robin "rivve" Holmén. According to team captain Conney "KyoChi" Sjoberg, "Robin [rivve] found himself worn out and will take a break from professional gaming to focus on other things in his life."
The Swedish star will be replaced by a familiar face, Daniel "zEnith" Johansen, previously known for his time in Fastswitch, Team Dignitas and Reason Gaming. The Norwegian surprisingly left the mixed European team of corgz mid January after he had decided not to attend the Crossfire Intel Challenge 7 but now seems to be making his appearance at the Dutch event after all.
Johan "LINQAN" Linqvist
Marcus "odyx" Nilsson

Stevy "Stevy" Verheyen
Daniel "zEnith" Johansen
Statement Daniel "zEnith" Johansen: "Hello I'm back again, I'm really looking forward to playing with the FnaticMSI team on and offline and thanking them for the opportunity! We're all training hard for CIC7 which will be the first test for us as a team and we hope we continue the success of last year. Thanks to all of the Fnatic sponsors, MSI, SteelSeries, Bigfoot Networks, UGAME and SLAPPA." |
